Absolute gem of a place. Amazing selection even on topics it's rare to find in a bookstore twice it's size. Fair prices, kind owner, and just lots and lots of good books.

A good used/vintage bookstore has lots to choose from. A great vintage used /bookstore has everything and it’s organized. Berkshire is among the greats! As you pass the well stocked children’s area entering the shop, a book junkie like me will spot the real goods immediately! First additions litter the shelves like gold to be mined for those willing to do the work . The perfect gifts, ready and eager to become the new best friend for young readers. Adventures to seek with Zane Grey and a weekend of laughter Janet Evonvich. I found a few treasures, my mother found a beautiful book of romance & pictures. A wonderful gift for a friend and a stack of Beverly Clearly & Judy Blume for daughter & grandkids !

I visit Berkshire Books whenever I am in the Bay Area, and I always find something interesting and engaging for my book collection. This place offers the true used book store experience, with a wide selection for satisfying browsing. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable, as well.

I sought out this bookstore while traveling from out of town and it did not disappoint! I could have spent HOURS here if I had the time. It is organized by genre and mostly alphabetical although there are boxes on the floor in some sections where there just wasn't enough room on the shelves. The boxes were easy to move around and sift through as well. The owner was kind and we enjoyed conversation about exploring used bookstores while he rang me up. I look forward to going back when I'm in town and I recommend this store to anyone who loves books and wants to get lost in the shelves for awhile!

This is a lovely little book shop. It's very easy to get overwhelmed- you could easily spend the entire day looking through every book and only go down half an aisle. There are books of all genres and many vintage books. The owner is pleasant and I enjoyed my chat with him at check out. I can't wait to come back and see what other treasures I find.

Ugh, I oddly LOVE the books all along the walls and floor. There's something comforting about the messiness of an old, used bookstore. Maybe it's the rarity and slow extinction of these sort of bookstores, or maybe it's simply just magical.. all I know is I absolutely love this bookstore. I never leave empty-handed! (:
